More science, less time

Advanced measurement performance

The 8600 Series vibrating sample magnetometer sets a new standard for magnetometer performance and convenience. These VSMs offer unparalleled sensitivity (15 nemu), rapid measurement speed (10 ms/pt), and straightforward operation, resulting in more precise measurements in less time.

Convenient operation

The entire 8600 Series system has undergone a redesign, focusing on a clean and ergonomic design that streamlines the researcher’s interaction with the system. A motorized head ensures that the sample is brought to a comfortable height for effortless, one-handed exchange of the QuickLIGN™ sample rods. Temperature options include a cryostat, high-temperature oven, and single-stage variable temperature insert, covering a combined temperature range from 4.2 K to 1273 K.

All three GlideLOCK™ options seamlessly slide into place and are automatically detected by the system, with the software displaying controls specific to the chosen option. Additionally, the magnet poles can be easily adjusted using the ExactGAP™ indexed positioning system, which offers six repeatable positions for setting the pole gap. This eliminates the need for recalibration after each adjustment, enhancing convenience and efficiency.

Designed for FORC

The development of this VSM prioritized the implementation of first-order reversal curve (FORC) measurement capabilities. Leveraging the high sensitivity of the 8600 Series vibrating sample magnetometer significantly enhances FORC analysis. Furthermore, FORC benefits from increased data point density, and the new VSM expedites complex FORC data collection sequences in a fraction of the time required by previous systems.

Additionally, the system features Real-Time FORC (RTForc™) software, facilitating fully automated FORC data acquisition through the 8600 Series software suite. This integration streamlines the FORC measurement process, offering researchers greater efficiency and ease of use.

Flexible and adaptable

The VSM’s software offers user-friendly control, simplifying operation. Standard predefined measurement routines are complemented by configurable field and measurement loops, providing a versatile data acquisition environment. Additionally, the software includes an integrated scripting tool, allowing users to expand existing routines using an open-ended scripting language. This capability enables customization of measurement protocols and seamless integration with third-party lab equipment, enhancing flexibility and adaptability.
