aNexus M81-SSM synchronous source measure system

An innovative architecture for coordinating low-level measurements from DC to 100 kHz

The aNexus Lake Shore MeasureReady™ M81-SSM (Synchronous Source and Measure) system introduces an innovative architecture tailored for precise low-level measurements spanning from DC to 100 kHz. By consolidating DC and AC sourcing with both DC and AC measurement capabilities, including the sensitivity and performance of a lock-in amplifier, the M81-SSM simplifies advanced measurement tasks.

Designed to streamline complex instrumentation setups, this system accommodates 1 to 3 source channels and 1 to 3 measure channels per half-rack unit, ensuring synchronized measurements for diverse material and device research applications. Moreover, when combined with the BCS-10 and VM-10 modules, the M81-SSM supports differential wiring to the sample, effectively minimizing environmental noise interference that could impact sensitive low-level measurements.

Flexible measurement capabilities

The M81-SSM offers versatile DC and AC stimulus and measurement capabilities suitable for material and device characterization across cryogenic, room temperature, and high-temperature environments.

Tailor your setup by combining differential current source and voltage measurement modules for low-resistance applications, providing precise stimulus currents and noise-cancellation benefits with balanced sample connections. Alternatively, mix and match with additional voltage source and current measurement modules to address complex higher-impedance or gate-biasing applications, requiring precise voltage control and sweeping test regimes.

Operating from very low frequencies to 100 kHz, these modules offer flexibility while enabling you to select measurement bandwidths to mitigate noise effects, including 1/f noise and environmental interference.

With MeasureSync™ technology, the system synchronizes sampling across all sourcing and measurement channels, allowing for consistent testing of multiple devices under identical conditions, ensuring reliable data acquisition.

Enhanced by optional MeasureLINK™ software, the M81-SSM supports configurable measurement scripts and loops, facilitating seamless integration with Lake Shore cryogenic probe stations and third-party systems.

With its comprehensive capabilities, the M81‑SSM excels in characterizing various test structures, including nanostructures, single- and multilayer atomic structures, MEMs, quantum structures, organic semiconductors, and superconducting materials.
